Needless to say the restoration and reconstruction of The Elmo Theater is not going to be an inexpensive project and while a grant is pending even if it is approved it will be far from enough funding. The majority of this project will be sponsored by individual and corporate donations and fundraisers. The society has already borrowed $60,000 all of which has been exhausted. Please “Take A Seat”

  During the course of the restoration almost everything inside the Elmo Theater will need to be ether rebuilt or replaced including all of the old seating. To replace the old seats we will need to purchase approximately 250 new seats. To help purchase these seats the St. Elmo Historical Society is holding the Take A Seat Fundraiser.

  In exchange for a donation of $175 you will get your own designated seat complete with a brass plaque attached to it’s arm. The plaque may be engraved in memory of a loved one, with the name -or names- of it’s donor, with a memorable saying or poem or even a line from your favorite movie. Plaques are limited in size so the engravings will be restricted to four lines of text with 20 characters per line including spaces and punctuation’s.
